Why I do what I do

In a society that prioritizes independence, self-reliance, and the relentless pursuit of the American Dream, creating a life that aligns with your values and priorities can feel out of reach. If you feel that you are failing to thrive in this environment, whether you grew up in poverty or with means, the shame can be paralyzing.
My hope is that I can help my clients start to shift how isolated and ashamed they feel regarding their financial situation. In case this is useful to you at this moment, I know how overwhelming the vulnerability can feel, but please know that you are not alone in this.
What you might be experiencing
Maybe something just feels off. Everyone else seems to have their shit together, and you’re left wondering why you don’t, why you don’t seem to have any willpower. Please know that:
- As beautiful as the online personas being created by others may look, we usually don’t know what’s happening in their wallets, or nervous systems, for that matter.
- It’s hard to get anywhere when you’re chasing someone else’s half-truth.
- Trauma—whether relational, intergenerational, social, or systemic—can deeply impact how we relate to money and ourselves.
- Scarcity, real or perceived, can distort our thinking and decision-making.
- Shame can be very destructive, leading us to make decisions that don’t always seem logical.
- Financial literacy concepts can feel impossible to absorb in a trauma, shame, or scarcity-activated state.

We are all doing our best to feel safe, secure, accepted, and that we’re enough. Maybe the choices you’ve made haven’t been pretty. I know a thing or two about that myself. If we’re honest, maybe we all do. And maybe those choices were necessary to get you to this point. Being here now means you have the opportunity to make different choices.
A Financial Approach That Fits You
Because everyone’s financial journey is unique, I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Some people may benefit from a few focused meetings while others may prefer a slow and steady approach. How we move forward depends entirely on your needs.
Unlike many financial professionals, I won’t ask you to gather stacks of paperwork or walk in with a completed budget. While that might feel easy for some, for others, it can be overwhelming and paralyzing. Instead, we’ll set a pace that feels right for you, taking it one step at a time.
We can work on defining or redefining your financial goals, reducing debt, increasing savings, creating a spending plan, or streamlining your money management. If credit is a concern, I’ll help you understand how it works and how it affects major financial decisions.

Before we dive into the numbers, we’ll explore the money narratives that shape your financial decisions and start rewriting the ones that no longer serve you. From there, we’ll take an honest, non-judgmental look at where you stand so you can build toward what’s next.
I love what I do. I love helping people explore what’s possible and seeing their dreams come to life. Selfishly, I also want to live in a world where more people feel fulfilled—doing work they love, spending time with family, making music, camping, walking their dogs. We know what it’s like to feel overworked, underpaid, and uninspired. Life is fleeting. Don’t let time, money, or a lack of clarity keep your dreams on hold forever.
“Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
